This section highlights the work of dancers who have reached out, with or without funding, in service and activism. Whether homegrown or exotic, their work is making a difference. Here are some stepping up and reaching out stories to inspire us all to get moving and get giving.
Dancing With Dementia
A weekly 5Rhythms class for people living with Alzheimer's and other dementia related conditions. The class is now in its 6th year, and amazingly enough, many of the original dancers are still with us and going strong!
Moving Meditation for Babies and Their Adults
Creative dance, songs and relaxation as we dance though the 5Rhythms of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness through a story-based Wave. This group is for babies pre-walking and their adults.
5Rhythms in Cancer Research and Rehabilitation
For the last decade, 5Rhythms has been part of the rehabilitation program offered to cancer patients at Aarhus University Hospital in Aarhus, Denmark, opening the door for future research projects.
Dance Your Ability
Dance Your Ability is a program offered to those who would normally not attend these types of classes, specially abled, elderly and at risk youth.
